Not enough AI credits

pdfMachine just tried to name a new PDF for you using AI, but your account has no AI credits left. The PDF was still created; it simply kept its usual name.

What happened

AI file naming Uses AI credits Online Required

  • AI file naming is an option in pdfMachine that reads the first page of each PDF you print and asks an AI model to suggest a short, descriptive filename, such as Tax Invoice Acme Widgets INV-20431 March 2026 instead of Document1.pdf.
  • AI file naming is available on every edition of pdfMachine; editions differ only in how many AI credits they come with.
  • Each PDF named this way uses one AI credit from your account, the same credits that pay for pdfMachine's other online AI services.
  • Your account's credits have run out, so pdfMachine could not name this document. Nothing is lost: the PDF was saved with its normal name, and pdfMachine keeps working as usual.
  • Until you have credits again, pdfMachine will show you this page each time it tries to name a document.

How to turn AI file naming off

If you would rather not use the feature for now, switch it off and pdfMachine will go back to its normal filenames straight away:

  1. Open pdfMachine and choose Options.
  2. Select the General page.
  3. Untick AI filenaming.
  4. Close the options window. The change is saved automatically.

You can tick it again at any time once you have more credits.

How to get more credits

To top up your AI credits, email [email protected]. Please include the email address or licence details your pdfMachine is registered with, and roughly how many documents you name each month, so we can suggest the right amount.
