Auto Append Feature
Auto Append: Construct PDFs from Multiple Sources
With pdfMachine’s Auto Append feature, you can efficiently build a PDF by printing documents from multiple sources. When enabled, if a PDF is open in pdfMachine, any newly printed document is automatically appended to the existing file. Not just print either, you can use the pdfMachine add-in in Microsoft Office, use the Chrome or Edge Extension or scan and the newly created PDF will be appended to the PDF open in pdfMachine.
How to Use Auto Append:- Ensure the 'auto append' setting is set to 'Enabled' in pdfMachine options.
- Open a PDF in pdfMachine (or print a document to the pdfMachine printer).
- pdfMachine viewer pops open, showing a PDF of what you printed.
- Print additional documents to pdfMachine — they will be appended to the open PDF.
This eliminates the need for manual merging, making multi-source PDF creation faster and easier.
You must have the 'auto append' setting set to 'Enabled' to use this feature. You will find that on the General tab in pdfMachine options.
pdfMachine has a number of methods to merge documents into one PDF. Read 'How to combine or Split PDFs' for more details.
