The easiest way to send large files securely
Broadgun sender is a Windows PC application for sending files securely.
Email security is not great
When you send an email it typically stays on your email server and the recipients email servers for ever. That's a lot of software, systems and processes that need to stay secure for a long time. Some information requires more security than that. Just in case.Sender uses end to end encryption. All the recipient needs is a browser.
How it works
Step 1 - download and run sender
No installation needed. Just download and run sender.exe.Step 2 - select files and click upload.
The files are compressed, encrypted and uploaded to broadgun servers.Step 3 - copy generated download link and send to recipient by email or chat.
Step 4 - the link recipient clicks on link, the files are decrypted and saved locally.
Step 5 - the files are removed from broadgun servers.
Better Security - one shot downloads
The uploaded files are deleted from the server after downloading by the link recipient, they can no longer be used.
Better Security - end to end encryption, no server side key
The files are encrypted before sending to the server. They are decrypted in recipients browser. The key is never seen by the server.
Overcome email attachment size limits
Allows files up to 200mb in size.
Broadgun sender - the secure file transfer process
The files that are uploaded are first encrypted at the clients PC with AES256 encryption, which the US government approves for top secret data. The encryption key is randomly generated. The key is never seen by the Broadgun server - the file is decrypted in the recipients browser. The key is encoded in the link to the file, which is sent via email or chat. The file on the server is deleted after the link has been used or after 30 days. Whichever comes first.
- Generate random encryption key
- AES256 encryption of file on client
- Upload encrypted file over secure HTTPS connection
- Create publicly accessible - impossible to guess - link to file, containing encryption key in the hash part which is never sent to the server.
- Send the URL link via email or chat
- Link recipient clicks on the link, which loads the decryption/download web page in the clients browser.
- The file is decrypted in the browser and saved locally.
- Broadgun server deletes the file.
